RESPONSIBLE GAMING COORDINATOR

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.28 – $20.58 per hour

Position Overview
The Responsible Gaming Coordinator leads and coordinates the New Mexico Lottery Authority’s responsible gaming initiatives, education programs, awareness campaigns, and outreach efforts. This position works collaboratively across departments to ensure responsible gaming principles are incorporated into Lottery communications, advertising, policies, training, and community engagement activities.

The Responsible Gaming Coordinator serves as the Lottery’s subject matter expert on responsible gaming and helps maintain industry certifications, monitor program effectiveness, and support partnerships with service providers and community organizations.

Essential Functions
Duties required may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Coordinates responsible gaming initiatives and collaborates with Lottery management and staff to ensure responsible gaming practices are incorporated into games, advertising, communications, and operational activities.
  2. Develops, writes, and maintains responsible gaming content for Lottery publications, websites, newsletters, training materials, and other communications.
  3. Leads efforts to obtain, maintain, and renew responsible gaming certifications and accreditations, including compliance with applicable standards and reporting requirements.
  4. Plans and coordinates responsible gaming awareness activities and campaigns in conjunction with national and industry-sponsored initiatives.
  5. Develops, reviews, and updates responsible gaming policies, procedures, and program documentation.
  6. Works closely with Marketing and Communications staff to ensure responsible gaming messaging is appropriately incorporated into advertising and promotional materials.
  7. Researches industry trends, emerging best practices, studies, and resources related to responsible gaming and player protection.
  8. Monitors responsible gaming service providers, including problem gambling hotline services, to ensure program effectiveness and operational functionality.
  9. Assists with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contracts, renewals, and vendor relationships related to responsible gaming services and programs.
  10. Develops and coordinates responsible gaming training opportunities for Lottery employees, retailers, and other stakeholders.
  11. Organizes outreach events, educational programs, presentations, and communications for employees, retailers, players, community organizations, and the public.
  12. Represents the Lottery at industry meetings, conferences, community events, and responsible gaming organizations.
  13. Maintains responsible gaming training resources and educational materials to ensure content remains current and effective.
  14. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert for responsible gaming inquiries and program-related questions.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Relevant professional experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as necessary.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Knowledge of responsible gaming principles, player protection programs, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with lottery, gaming, public education, or community outreach programs preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop policies, procedures, reports, presentations, and public-facing communications.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to analyze information, prepare reports, and present findings.
  • Experience coordinating stakeholders, vendors, community partners, and public outreach activities.
  • Proficiency using computer software and business applications.

Requirements Necessary to Perform Essential Functions

Work Location: This position is based on site at our Albuquerque headquarters. Regular in-person attendance is expected to support collaboration, training, outreach activities, and organizational initiatives.

Graphic Design Intern (12-week term)

Onsite: at 4511 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque
Pay: $15-17 per hour;  15-20 hours per week – part-time

Job Description:
The Graphic Design Intern supports the Advertising & Marketing Division by assisting with the creation, production, and implementation of visual materials that promote the New Mexico Lottery Authority (NMLA). This position contributes to both print and digital marketing efforts while also supporting promotional events and operational needs. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include:
Designing and producing graphics for print and digital platforms, including posters, signage, advertisements, and social media materials. The intern will print, assemble, and install Lottery signage at retail locations and assist in maintaining brand consistency across all marketing materials. Additional duties include supporting video and animated content production and contributing creative ideas to marketing initiatives.

The position also provides event and promotional support, including assisting with event setup and teardown, managing event materials, packaging and shipping promotional prizes, and participating in mascot or on-site promotional activities as needed.

The intern may perform other assigned tasks to support the division’s overall marketing and operational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
Current enrollment in a college-level graphic design or marketing program, preferably at the junior or senior level. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) is required. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere or animation software is preferred. Basic photography and videography skills are expected.

Additional Requirements and Skills:
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Experience using hand and power tools, large-format printers, and cutting equipment for signage production is preferred. Reliable transportation is required for travel to retail locations and promotional events.

Work Environment:
Primarily office-based within the Advertising & Marketing Division, with occasional travel to retail locations and event sites. The role may involve light physical activity, including lifting, assembling signage, and event setup.
