ALBUQUERQUE – To acquaint players with drawing games played only in the Land of Enchantment, the New Mexico Lottery will give away a free ticket with purchase during August.
“Roadrunner Cash and Pick 3 are played only in New Mexico and we want to bring them from behind the shadow of the big national jackpot games like Powerball,” said Karla Wilkinson, New Mexico Lottery gaming products director. “With our state games, players have even more entertainment options.”
As long as everything is on the same ticket, the $5 Roadrunner Cash purchase can include any combination of plays such as multiple wagers for the same drawing or wagers for future drawings.
When the qualifying purchase is made, the sales terminal will sound a tone and a free quick-pick ticket for the next Pick 3 drawing will print automatically.
How to Play
In Roadrunner Cash, matching five numbers wins the game’s jackpot. With 37 numbers in the game, the odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 435,897. Jackpots start at $25,000. The record jackpot of $890,000 was won in October 2013.
In addition to the jackpot, there are prizes of $200, $5 and $1. The overall odds of winning a Roadrunner Cash prize are 1 in 8. Tickets are $1 per play. Drawings are held Monday through Saturday at approximately 9:45 p.m.
The Pick 3 game has drawings Monday through Saturday at approximately 1 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Players win by matching three numbers from zero to nine. Tickets are $1 per play. Prizes range between $5 and $500.
