Biggest Single-Day Launch in Lottery’s 18 Years

ALBUQUERQUE – No fooling – the New Mexico Lottery introduces five Scratcher™ games today, the biggest single-day launch in its 18-year history.

New Mexico Lottery CEO David Barden said the five-game launch kicks off an initiative called “Super Tuesday.”

“Stores and players don’t want to have to guess about when new games might be out,” Barden said. “Starting now, the first Tuesday in the month will be our big Scratcher launch day.”

According to New Mexico Lottery Product Manager Karla Wilkinson, the lottery will introduce between three and five Scratcher games on “Super Tuesday” with some exceptions such as a business holiday. She said the effort will help the lottery launch and promote new games in a more efficient and cost-effective way to maximize revenue for the Legislative Lottery Scholarship program.

‘$500 Explosion’ Game Features $3 Million in Prizes

Today’s launch includes a $10-game called “$500 Explosion.” The game features $3 million in prizes ranging between $10 and $500.

Wilkinson said the game is designed to create lots of winning experiences that can all be paid in stores.

“Any time shoppers see clerks giving lots of prizes to very excited lottery players, it starts a big buzz,” she said.

New Mexico Lottery prizes between $1 and $600 can be claimed in stores. Larger prizes must be claimed through the lottery.

Other games launching today are:

  • $1 “Money Magnet” with a top prize of $1,200;
  • $2 “Sizzling Cash Tripler” with a top prize of $5,000;
  • $3 “Lotería” with a top prize of $25,000;
  • $5 “$50,000 Gold Rush” with a top prize of $50,000.
