IT GAMING COORDINATOR

Job Type: Full-time
Pay:
$43,496 – $70,944 per year

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Deputy Director of IT Gaming, the IT Gaming Coordinator is responsible for quality assurance testing, troubleshooting with users and vendors, and operational support of the Lottery’s gaming systems. This role provides technical guidance and support, ensures system performance and reliability, and assists with IT-related projects across the organization.

Essential Functions:
Duties required may include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Systems Support (40%) – Create and manage support tickets for users, documenting issues or change requests in detail. Provide software and hardware support, demonstrate system functionality, analyze reported incidents, prepare management reports, and coordinate with users and vendors to ensure resolution.
  2. Quality Assurance (40%) – Perform software and hardware testing across multiple platforms and devices. Follow and create test plans, monitor system performance, alert appropriate personnel of concerns, and work with users to validate gaming system functionality.
  3. IT Support (15%) – Perform nightly draw operations as scheduled. Assist IT division directors with various projects, including desktop support, network troubleshooting, and documentation.
  4. Other Duties as Assigned (5%) – Provide support for other Lottery information technology needs as requested.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Prior professional experience in information technology with relevant systems, software, and hardware support.

    DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay:
    $70,000 – $92,000 per year

    Position Overview:
    Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Deputy will have both internal and external facing responsibilities. Ranging from assisting with the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing of all activities associated with the Finance Division of the Lottery.  This includes general ledger; cash and investment management; accounts receivable and debt collection; capital asset accounting; accounts payable; game accounting; payroll preparation and reconciliation; financial reporting and disclosure; and retailer accounting.  Assists in planning, directing, and consolidating the budget for all Divisions and Departments and budgetary compliance and control for the Lottery.  Assists in compliance with all the requirements of the New Mexico Lottery Authority (NMLA), including monthly revenue transfers, financial and budgetary reporting to the applicable state bodies, and debt setoff withholding for the Human Services Department.  Assists in planning and directing financial audits.  Position is responsible for supervising all employees reporting to the Deputy Director and for all applicable annual evaluations.

    Essential Functions:
    Duties required may include, but are not limited to the following accounting duties: 

    1. Assists with the day-to-day accounting and financial functions, including accounts payable, integration of accounts receivable, cash and game transactions into Great Plains accounting system, month-end and year-end closing, and tax reporting.
    2. Assists with the payroll preparation to ensure that employees are properly paid each pay period, applicable taxes are properly computed, remitted, and reported to state and federal bodies, and that applicable benefit deductions are taken, and payments made to benefit providers.
    3. Assists with ensuring compliance with internal accounting and financial policies, generally accepted accounting principles and laws and regulations, e.g., Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) rules, standards, etc.
    4. Assists with the annual financial audit.  Assists with the preparation of the financial statements, notes to the financial statements, and the Management Discussion and Analysis for the independent audit report.
    5. Assists in the review of the pension plan contribution files prepared by the vendor payroll company to ensure that appropriate contributions are being made for plan participants each payroll and reconciles the contribution files to the general ledger and the payroll registers.
    6. Manages employees directly reporting to the Deputy Director, including staff activities and coordination of schedules and timetables with regard to completing tasks, reports and financial statement closing.
    7. Prepares and submits both oral and written reports to executive staff, Board of Directors, and applicable state government bodies. Prepares, oversees and/or analyzes RFP’s and existing contracts to ensure compliance with terms.  Reviews instant game working papers and new on-line game parameters and/or changes. Prepares financial and accounting policies and/or procedures for the Lottery.
    8. Assists in the day-to-day management and supervision of all Finance Division staff and assumes responsibility for the operation of the division when the Director of Finance is not present.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field is required.
      • Five to ten years’ experience in financial accounting and direct supervision of employees is preferred.

      • Highly developed numerical, analytical, problem-solving, interactive management, written and oral communication, meditative, planning, and organization skills are essential.  
      • Skill in proficient use of IT and computer systems and processes is required.

      SUPERVISING SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

      $57,894 – $89,473 per year

      Position Overview:
      Applies principles of professional accounting, statistical and data analysis to implement and maintain general and specialized accounting systems; prepares and submits financial and operating reports; may perform advanced accounting projects; and under the direction of the Deputy Director of Finance assists in managerial oversight duties–supervises activities of accounting. 

      Essential Functions:
      Duties required may include, but are not limited to: 

      1. Supervision of Accounting (35%) – Supervises accounting employees’ activities. Schedules and coordinates the work to be performed in these areas to ensure that all jobs are completed in an efficient and timely manner.  Assists with transactions and problems in these areas, as needed, involving the review, analysis, and reconciliation of accounts and transactions being performed by the staff.
      2. Accounting (40%) –
        • Instant Gaming Accounting. Performance of accounting functions relative to instant gaming accounting, including review, analysis, summarization, reconciliation, documentation and reporting.  
        • Instant Game Setup. Review and approval of the setting up of new instant games with Lottery Gaming system.
        • Instant Ticket and Merchandise Prize Inventory. Performance of accounting functions relative to instant ticket inventory and merchandise prize inventory accounting, including review, analysis, summarization, reconciliation, documentation, and reporting.
        • Draw Gaming Accounting. Performance of accounting functions related to draw gaming accounting including review, analysis, summarization, reconciliation, documentation and reporting.  Verification of calculation of draw games’ prize liabilities.  Reconciliation of unreserved and prize reserves held at MUSL.
        • Unclaimed Prizes and Prize Liability. Performance of accounting functions relative to unclaimed prizes and prize liabilities. 
        • Integration of Gaming Information and accounts receivable Integration of the gaming information and accounts receivable from the Lottery Gaming system into the accounting system.
        • Cash Accounting and Bank Reconciliations. Performance of accounting functions relative to cash.  Review and post bank reconciliations of the NMLA accounts, including making any adjusting entries for the accounts.
      3. Financial Analysis/General Accounting: Account Analysis. Month-end and year-end performance of reconciliation, analysis and review of balance sheet and income statement accounts in order to produce financial statements for the period and determine the amount to be transferred to the state. 
      4. Other Duties as Assigned (5%) – Provide support for other Lottery information technology needs as requested.

        Minimum Qualifications:

        • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required;
        • An incumbent must possess seven or more years of prior accounting experience wherein the ability to perform the position’s duties has been adequately demonstrated.

        Knowledge and Skills Required:

        • Well-developed knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial management practices.
        • Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounting software.
        • Practical technical-level knowledge of various laws and regulations relating to the accounting processes and administration of employee benefit plans.
        • Well-developed numerical analytical problem solving, planning, and organization skills are required.
        • Skill in proficient use of MIS and computer systems and processes is required.

        GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP

        Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary
        Pay:
        $15 to $17 hourly / 15-20 hours per week

        Position Overview:
        To assist the Advertising and Marketing team in producing graphic and digital designs, support promotional events, and create visual content that enhances the visibility of the New Mexico Lottery’s products and initiatives.

        Essential Functions:
        Duties required may include, but are not limited to the following duties:

        1. Produce graphics for various print and digital formats, including posters, signage, social media graphics, and ads.
        2. Print, assemble, and install Lottery signage at retail locations.
        3. Design and update printed marketing materials for the Lottery.
        4. Assist with video and animated content production to support Lottery campaigns.
        5. Help with special events, including setup and teardown, managing materials, and mascot duties.
        6. Assist with prize packaging and shipping for promotional events.
        7. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

        Minimum Qualifications:

        • High School diploma or GED equivalent. Enrollment in a college-level graphic design or marketing program; coursework in specified design software required.
        • Proficiency in graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with Adobe Premiere and animation software preferred.
        • Basic photography and videography skills.
        • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
        • Ability to work independently and within a team.
