Tonight’s jackpot is the fourth-largest in Powerball history and the fifth-largest among U.S. lottery jackpots.

The New Mexico Lottery’s CEO, David Barden, said, “Big Powerball jackpots are exciting, both with potential for prizes and dollars raised for New Mexico students. Thank you, New Mexico Lottery players, for helping to raise money for college scholarships through the sale of Lottery tickets. But please remember to have fun and play responsibly. It only takes one ticket for a chance to win.”

How to Play Powerball

Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Two add-on features are available for purchase:

  • Power Play® ($1 per play) multiplies any non-jackpot prize by 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 10.
  • Powerball Double Play® ($1 per play) offers a chance to match Powerball numbers in a second drawing for a chance to win up to $10 million. This drawing occurs after the regular Powerball draw on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Players should also check their tickets for non-jackpot prizes after the draw has taken place. Non-jackpot prizes range from $4 up to $1 million and are multiplied (up to $2 million) when Power Play has been purchased.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of the proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. Drawings are broadcast live from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Powerball drawings are also streamed online at Powerball.com.
