New Mexicans are Winning
Since the start of this Powerball runup on June 1, 2025, New Mexico players have won more than $2.09 million in prizes, including one $150,000 prize, one $100,000 prize and nine $50,000 prizes.
New Mexico Lottery CEO David Barden said, “We are thrilled to see the excitement about this jackpot with our players, and even more excited to see the difference a jackpot like this can make for our beneficiaries. As ticket sales increase, so do funds for Legislative Lottery Scholarships.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Barden urges players to play responsibly. “As exciting as this jackpot is, please remember to play responsibly and only play what you can afford. Remember, it only takes one ticket for a chance to win.”
If the jackpot is hit in New Mexico, it will be the sixth time the Powerball jackpot has been won in New Mexico. It would also be the largest jackpot won in New Mexico.
New Mexico Lottery players can buy tickets for the September 6, 2025, Powerball draw until 8:00 p.m. MT Saturday.
How to Play Powerball
Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Two add-on features are available for purchase:
- Power Play® multiplies any non-jackpot prize by 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 10 for an extra $1 per play, and
- Double Play® ($1 per play) offers a chance to match Powerball numbers in a second drawing for a chance to win up to $10 million. This drawing occurs after the regular Powerball draw on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. Drawings are broadcast live from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Powerball drawings are also live-streamed online at Powerball.com.
