New Mexicans are Winning
Since the start of this Powerball runup on June 1, 2025, New Mexico players have won $1.88 million in prizes.
New Mexico Lottery CEO, David Barden, said, “It’s wonderful to see our players and New Mexico students winning. As interest and sales increase in Powerball, our students and players benefit. Thanks to everyone who buys a ticket. Just keep it fun and only play what you can afford.”
If the jackpot is hit in New Mexico, it will be the sixth time the Powerball jackpot has been won in New Mexico. It would also be the largest jackpot won in New Mexico.
New Mexico Lottery players can buy tickets for the September 3, 2025, Powerball draw until 8:00 p.m. MT on Wednesday.
How to Play Powerball
Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Two add-on features are available for purchase:
Power Play® multiplies any non-jackpot prize by 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 10 for an extra $1 per play, and
Double Play® ($1 per play) offers a chance to match Powerball numbers in a second drawing for a chance to win up to $10 million. This drawing occurs after the regular Powerball draw on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. Drawings are broadcast live from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Powerball drawings are also live-streamed online at Powerball.com.
