ALBUQUERQUE – The Kentucky Derby is known as the most exciting two minutes in sports. But for Melba and Sesario Ramos of Clovis, the most exciting two minutes of last weekend was when a store clerk scanned their ticket Sunday and told them they won a $200,000 Roadrunner Cash™ prize.

On May 4, the Clovis couple claimed their $200,000 Roadrunner Cash prize at lottery headquarters in Albuquerque. The winning ticket was a $10 Quick Pick with ten sets of numbers for the May 1 drawing. It was the fifth set that matched all five numbers drawn Friday evening to win that night’s top prize worth $200,000. Those numbers were: 13-18-19-29-34.

“When I saw the full moon after watching the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, I told my wife, ‘I feel we’re going to win the big prize,’” said Ramos.

The lucky couple told lottery officials that they have two granddaughters attending college, one is attending on a Legislative Lottery Scholarship. “We’re happy to receive this money to help our granddaughters, son and daughter,” said Mrs. Ramos.

“I plan to take my wonderful, beautiful wife out for a nice Mother’s Day dinner,” added Mr. Ramos. The Ramoses, married 54 years, said they’ll also use part of their prize to take a trip.

The winning ticket was sold at 9th & Prince Chevron, located at 901 N. Prince Street in Clovis, which has sold nine other large winning tickets ranging from $1,000 up to a $50,000 Scratcher prize sold in February. As part of the lottery’s retailer incentive program, 9th & Prince Chevron is eligible for a $1,000 bonus for selling a $200,000 Roadrunner Cash ticket.
