New Mexico Lottery Launches “Mustang Money” Scratcher™ for Car’s 50th Anniversary

ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico Lottery’s latest Scratcher™ has true horsepower.

Available in stores now, the “Mustang Money” Scratcher features cash prizes of up to $50,000.

50th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang GTThe $5 game also offers players with non-winning tickets a chance to win a limited edition Ford Mustang GT* manufactured to celebrate the car’s 50th anniversary.

“Thanks to Rich Ford, the New Mexico Lottery is the only lottery in the world to have a 50th anniversary edition Ford Mustang GT to give as a prize,” said Karla Wilkinson, New Mexico Lottery product director.

The limited edition Ford Mustang GT is car number 443 of only 1,964 made. The Mustang made its debut in 1964. The prize, which comes in Wimbledon White with an automatic transmission, is parked now at the Rich Ford showroom in Albuquerque.

“It’s a sweet ride for a trip down Route 66,” Wilkinson added.

The Ford Mustang GT prize is valued at $70,000, and will include tax, title and license.

Players enter non-winning “Mustang Money” tickets at www.nmlottery.com. The deadline to enter is July 7. Three finalists will be drawn for a live grand prize giveaway event scheduled for Aug. 8 at the Isotopes game in Albuquerque.

The “Mustang Money” Scratcher is one of five launching today. The other games are:

  • Hot 5s” is a $1 game that features top prizes of $2,500;
  • Power 7s” is a $2 game that features top prizes of $14,000;
  • 3 Times the Money” is a $3 game that features top prizes of $30,000;
  • Big Money” is a $10 game that features top prizes of $100,000 as well as prizes between $30 and $250 totaling more than $1 million.
