Designed to Make More and More Millionaires
ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico Lottery will join a new national drawing game designed to make millionaires of many players rather than pay a gigantic jackpot to one extraordinarily lucky person.
Tickets for the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game go on sale Oct. 19 for the first drawing on Oct. 24. Drawings will occur Fridays at approximately 9:15 p.m. MT.
New Mexico Lottery CEO David Barden said the game, which is expected to make more millionaires than any other game in lottery history, responds to players wishes to spread the wealth.

“We created the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game for all those people who wrote us, called us or spoke to us in stores asking why sky-high jackpots couldn’t be divided into many $1 million prizes for lots of winners,” Barden said.
“We’ll still have Powerball® and Mega Millions® because they have a large and loyal fan base,” Barden said, “but the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game will offer three brand new ways to mint more millionaires in New Mexico.”
The game was developed by Scientific Games and uses Hasbro’s iconic MONOPOLY brand. Since 2006, Hasbro has licensed more than 170 MONOPOLY lottery games, with many ranking among the best-sellers of 2013.
Becoming a Millionaire
The MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game offers three ways to become a millionaire.
- A top prize that will start at $15 million and climb to a cap of $25 million;
- When the top prize is hit, there will be a second drawing for at least 10 prizes of $1 million nationwide;
- A chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. and a chance to appear on the nationally televised game show to win $1 million.
How to Play

In the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery game, a wager consists of five numbers between one and 52 and a Monopoly Property number.
For numbers one through 52, players can select their five favorites or ask for a quick pick. A Monopoly property from one to 28 will always be a quick pick.
To win the top prize, a player must match all five numbers and the MONOPOLY Property number. There are other prizes ranging between $5 and $100,000 for matching fewer numbers.
When the top prize is hit, there will be a second immediate drawing for prizes of $1 million. Players win $1 million by matching the Millionaires’ Club number. The 10-digit Millionaires’ Club number will be generated randomly and printed to tickets automatically at the time of purchase.
The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in approximately 72.7 million. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in approximately 10.
Tickets are $5 each. How-to-play brochures will be available at New Mexico Lottery retailers and at www.nmlottery.com.
