“It’s unbelievable, but you’ve always got to stay positive because eventually, something positive is bound to happen,” Gutierrez told New Mexico Lottery officials in Albuquerque Tuesday.

After stopping for snacks on his way to a job in Santa Fe, Gutierrez bought his lucky ticket using $3 in change.

“It’s a good thing I wasn’t able to make him lunch,” wife Analicia Gutierrez said.

I’m so happy,” Gutierrez laughed. “I would cry except that truck men don’t cry.”

Gutierrez purchased his lucky ticket in Santa Fe at the Allsup’s Store No. 345 located at 305 N. Guadalupe St. Previously, the store has sold 17 large prize winning tickets ranging between $1,000 and $25,000.

The “Trucks & Bucks” game includes a “second-chance” opportunity for players with non-winning tickets to win Ford* F-150 XLT CrewCab trucks. Details are at “Second Chance City” at www.nmlottery.com.
