Crownpoint Woman Wins $70,000 New Mexico Lottery Jackpot

01/30/2013

ALBUQUERQUE – Marilyn Holiday of Crownpoint won a $70,000 jackpot from the New Mexico Lottery.

Holiday, playing numbers she selected herself, matched the winning numbers of 22, 23, 26, 29 and 34 to land the top prize in Monday’s Roadrunner Cash® drawing. She discovered her good fortune the next morning when she checked her ticket with the numbers posted at the lottery’s website.

“I went numb there for awhile,” Holiday told lottery officials in Albuquerque. “I was, like, ‘is this really happening to me?’”

Holiday, who won a $200 prize on a second wager for the same drawing, said she plans to use her prizes to pay bills and attend a family reunion.

The winner bought her lucky ticket at Red Rock Package located on Highway 371 in Smith Lake. Previously, the store sold a Powerball® ticket that won $10,000.

Other recent local winners include Cecil Etsitty of Tse Bonito who won $35,000 Roadrunner Cash jackpot and Sarah Fisher of Gallup who won a $1,500 Scratcher prize.
