New Mexico Lottery Sells Mega Millions Ticket Worth $1 Million

06/06/2012

ALBUQUERQUE – A New Mexico Lottery player is holding a Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million from last night’s drawing.

The winning ticket’s numbers matched the white ball numbers of 37, 39, 42, 53 and 55. Matching five white balls pays $250,000, but the prize became $1 million automatically because the ticketholder added the $1 Megaplier feature to the wager.

The lottery recommends that the ticketholder sign the ticket immediately. The prize must be claimed in person at the lottery’s headquarters in Albuquerque.

New Mexico’s Fifth Millionaire of 2012

This Mega Millions ticket is the fifth New Mexico Lottery ticket to win a prize of $1 million or more in 2012.

In January, Larry and Cynthia Martinez of Blanco won a $1 million Powerball prize.

In March, Patrick and Sharon Yazzie of Chinle, Ariz. won a $1 million Powerball prize.

In April, Robert Platt of Albuquerque won a $1.54 million Hot Lotto jackpot while James Larson, also of Albuquerque, won a $1 million Powerball prize.
