11/01/2011

ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico Lottery is giving away Mega Millions tickets to its players.

Today through Nov. 22, Mega Millions players will get one free quick-pick ticket for buying a $5 Mega Millions wager. The $5 purchase can include any combination of plays such as multiple wagers for the same drawing, wagers for future drawings or the Megaplier feature to multiply non-jackpot prizes as long everything is printed on the same ticket.

When the qualifying purchase is made, the free quick-pick ticket will print automatically from the store terminal.

Mega Millions is a drawing game played by 45 lotteries in the United States, the District of Columbia and the U. S. Virgin Islands. The New Mexico Lottery joined the game in January 2010.

Drawings occur on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9 p.m. Mountain Time. Players can buy Mega Millions tickets on drawings nights until 8:45 p.m. Mountain Time.

Jackpots start at $12 million. The game hit a record jackpot of $390 million in March 2007.
