NEW MEXICO LOTTERY OFFERS ‘PINK PANTHER™’ GAME

Net Revenues Support Legislative Lottery Scholarships

January 8, 2008

ALBUQUERQUE – The “Pink Panther™”* stars in the New Mexico Lottery’s first Scratcher game of the new year.

Available now, the $2 game depicts the languid cartoon feline in six ticket scenes, several of which include Inspector Clousseau, the bumbling French policeman with the oversized ego. The Pink Panther game features top prizes of $10,000. Ten numbers are concealed under a variety of images including the Pink Panther’s smirk and a sleuthing Clousseau.

The Pink Panther debuted in the opening title sequence of the “The Pink Panther” movie in 1964. In the movie series, the Pink Panther is a valuable diamond with a flaw that resembles a leaping pink panther. The animated cat’s film popularity led to appearances in Oscar-winning theatrical shorts, hundreds of cartoons, and computer and video games.

$337 Million Raised for Education

Net revenues from the sale of all lottery games benefit Legislative Lottery Scholarships, an in-state tuition assistance program for New Mexico residents attending public colleges and universities.

Since its inception in 1996, the lottery has raised more than $337 million for college tuition and school construction and repairs in New Mexico. In the last decade, more than 48,000 students have attended college on Legislative Lottery Scholarships. Information about Legislative Lottery Scholarships is available at www.nmlottery.com
