On his way to the hardware store last Saturday, Eugene Scott
stopped at the grocery store to pick up some sausage. He never made it to
the hardware store and neither he nor his wife remember if he ever brought home
the sausage. They’re both quite clear that he did bring home a $250,000
winning Scratcher ticket.
“I sent him to get some sausage but he brought home the bacon!” quipped his
wife Shelly.
Scott purchased a $1 Scratcher ticket that morning at Albertson’s #915 called
Hit $250 and won $30. With his winnings, he purchased a $20 Cash Extreme
ticket and won $100.
His lucky streak continued as he purchased his third ticket of the
morning, another $20 Cash Extreme ticket, and won the game’s top prize of
$250,000.
The couple, which will celebrate their tenth anniversary this fall, waited
four days to claim their prize in order to seek financial guidance. They
will use their winnings to pay bills and invest the rest.
Scott purchased his winning tickets at Albertsons #915 located at 6200 Coors NW
in Albuquerque. Several large winning tickets have been sold at this
location including a $330,000 Roadrunner Cash™ ticket in September 2007 and a
$93.4 million Powerball® jackpot ticket in August 2005.
