Where Proceeds Go
Total Net Proceeds To Education in FY '07:
$34.8 Million

The New Mexico Lottery raised $34.8 million in net proceeds for New Mexico education in fiscal year 2007.  All proceeds went to the state's lottery tuition fund, which provides tuition assistance ("Legislative Lottery Scholarships") to New Mexico residents for public post-secondary education in New Mexico.

Following action during the 2001 session of the New Mexico Legislature, FY ’02 marked the first full year in which all Lottery profits were earmarked for the Legislative Lottery Scholarship program. This follows several years during which Lottery profits were divided 60%/40% for the public school capital outlay and Lottery tuition funds, respectively, and later split equally between the two programs.
