Where does the money go?
Money is
transferred to the New Mexico State Treasurer and then
allocated to the Legislative Lottery Scholarship program.
Since its
inception in April 1996, the Lottery has turned over
more than $361 million to the State of New Mexico.
More than 48,000 Lottery scholarship recipients have
attended New Mexico colleges and universities since
the program began, according to data from the
New Mexico Higher Education Department.
Fiscal Year 2001 was the final year for which the
Lottery provided money for Public Capital Outlay. This
legislative change was effective June 15, 2001. |

compromise involving the State Legislature and the Governor. |

Scholarship at the Lottery office?
No.
The New Mexico Lottery does not administer the
scholarships.

What games do you currently have to raise
money for education?
The New Mexico
Lottery offers two types of games. Instant tickets, or "Scratchers",
are sold in $1, $2, $3, $5, $10 and $20 denominations. Top prizes vary
by game. "Online games" offered are "Pick 3," with a $500 top prize, and "Roadrunner
Cash" with a top prize of $20,000 that rolls higher until claimed.
Tickets are $1 a piece. "Powerball" and "Hot Lotto"
are New Mexico's traditional
lotto-style games with rolling multi-million dollar jackpots.
Tickets are also $1 each, with an optional $1 chance to multiply
prizes.
