Are “Overall Odds”?

Overall
odds provide the average amount of winning tickets per
game. For
instance, in Scratchers if a game has overall odds of
1 in 4 that means that over the entire pack of tickets
there will be one winning ticket per every four
tickets. Because
winning tickets are randomly distributed, it
does not mean that if you buy four tickets you are
guaranteed to have a winner among those four.
For example, say that someone in front of you
buys four tickets but does not have a winner among
them. The
next person to buy tickets may receive two winners
among their four tickets purchased. It's all a matter of luck and that's what makes it fun!
